I've been having one of those kind of days. I was walking, or perhaps what some may consider skipping, when I unfortunately snagged one of my heels on a drain pipe. Luckily there was a huge trash bin there and I happened to catch myself before I completely hit the ground. I was so happy that I had a Payless Shoes coupon in my handbag for times just like this. Carrying my broken shoes, I went into the store. A sales associate was right there helping me out. Thank goodness for one thing going right.
Every time I turned around it seemed something was turning out wrong, and I was starting a brand new job this week. The pencil of my eyeliner just totally snapped in half this morning. Obviously, it must have already been fragile or cracked or something because I don't put my makeup on with brute force.
Then I had to rush and get the garbage out before the garbage collector came and the bag fell completely apart. Of course, trash was everywhere. After I cleaned up the trash off the floor, I had to mop up what was left of the wet mess it made of my kitchen tile. And now I had a broken show to top my day off.
It's times like these when you just have to look on the bright side of life. To try to lower my stress levels, I was trying to laugh at all the weird stuff that was happening. I can see myself as the leading star in my own sitcom. Days like this one just seem to be right out of some sort of skit.
This has to be a more opportune time for this to happen as compared to some other time, I guess. It would have been a lot worse if this had been my first day at the new work. I would have looked unprofessional, not to mention have to leave to go get some new shoes. That's not the sort of first impression I want to leave on my coworkers.
I wound up being able to buy two pairs which was a pleasant surprise for my wallet. I got a pair of navy blue flats and also a pair of comfortable walking sneakers. I realized that the next time I decide to skip, I should be wearing more appropriate footwear. It's never a dull time when it comes to me.
