The Fashion Of Wellington Boots

Popular places for the wearing of wellington boots are the bogs within the Irish countryside and in the mines of Africa. These are simply referred to as wellies or gumboots. The gumboot dances around the mines have made them even more popular.

In the past they have been created in just plain black and white. These days you get them in different colors as well as a wide range of prints. The places where it rains a lot, has always used them to protect feet from getting wet. It keeps your feet warm at the same time. This is meant for both young and old. Mums, especially, purchase them for their small children. It is a great combination with raincoats and umbrellas.

These dreary wellingtons have certainly become a fashion statement for many. Most of them are manufactured from PVC. The fashionable ones are not meant for high industrial usage, but is mainly for keeping your feet warm and dry in a very fashionable way. It is not only for the wet weather either. Many people have started wearing them for keeping their feet warm.

Wellingtons are made in rubber or PVC and cast as one piece. This is the way it has been made since it evolved from the previous designs. It comes in different sizes and slips easily onto your feet. The wellies are mostly used for protection. That includes hygienic purposes as well. It is a product everyone uses all over the world and each use it for their own specific reasons.

They are used in abattoirs, in chemical factories, hazardous chemical clean up operations and many more applications. Since the time the Duke of Wellington started wearing these in the 1800s, the wellingtons have been manufactured. It has changed in material, styling and purposes, but it has never been off the market.

Farmers and laborers use them often for work purposes around the farm. It protected their feet against wet and from getting dirty. Wellies are, therefore, a great asset for many purposes. The special use of the wellies are for the rainy areas.

In the past the places from which to purchase your wellies from was very limited. You could only get them from your local hardware store. These days you are also able to shop for them in fashion stores.
