The History Of Wholesale African Jewelry

By Emilia Stout

It is a part of the long gone past that the wholesale African jewelry started. From over thousands of years ago, artisans gave birth to their elaborate designs by handcrafting them. Even now, their handcrafted works are still fashionable.

The history of these items were said to have dated 75,000 years back into time. Early beads were found as evidence in Africa to prove this. Even these beads took on elaborate forms to show the beauty of the art of Africa.

From long ago, those beads that were used in making the adornments were carved out of shells and other available materials. It improved as time passed by. The artisans now used in their craft a variety of stones which are said to denote the social difference between people. There were beads that tell apart the powerful and the rich.

As it is, the raw materials artisans used became better through time. They used all the available resources they have to carve earrings, crowns, and other adornments. They used natural metals, precious stones, semiprecious stones, and other materials imaginable.

Natural metals were used for further enhancement for those works of art. Metals found in nature such as bronze, gold, and copper were used by artisans to make their masterpieces more beautiful. Using those metals made their works more valuable, too.

Semiprecious and precious stones also came into view. Artisans learned to use sapphires, emeralds, rubies, turquoise, and lapis lazuli and incorporate them into the treasures they made. Even if the jewels were not made out of diamonds, which fell out of the artisan's favor because it is colorless, those made with semiprecious and precious stones were still of good quality.

The treasures the artisans used were not entirely limited to valuable materials mentioned. There were also rings, crowns, and other treasures that were made with non-conventional materials. These materials include animal teeth and shells. These materials are also accepted in the wholesale African jewelry business too. Wholesale African Jewelry
