Jewellery Styles on the Cuff

By Abigail Collins

Every little girl loves to dress up and it's the same for grown women. Whatever the occasion, one woman can become cute casual or glamorous party girl, formal or informal, rock or office chic. The transformation can be exhilarating. Looking for fashion tips and advice to suit your personal needs and demonstrate your individuality is a lifestyle anyone can enjoy. Many women follow style icons to get the most talked-about look, and the gurus of style are celebrity women whose fashion choices are celebrated all over glossy style magazines.

Jewellery was once something only the rich could enjoy. Diamonds and other precious jewels were out of reach for the common shopper. But today with costume jewellery, anybody can be and feel as glamorous as the expensively adorned, without having to pinch pennies! Luxury and excitement are achievable with something simple, like a bracelet.

From a solid bangle, to a deep cuff, chain or charm bracelets, the addition of a good piece to a wrist can transform a plain jacket into something special, offset bare skin against a party dress, or jazz up a jumper.

Top of many women's lists of style icons is Cheryl Cole. Rarely off the covers of our most popular magazines, she has come to represent young, modern style with individual creativity and her own special brand of fashion. Cheryl is never seen without carefully chosen jewellery, recently she has been seen wearing a Daisy Heart Chakra Bracelet a piece which combines great looks with a spiritual meaning, and she's also been sporting a 'sweetie' link bracelet, in silver.

Since her wedding, Kim Kardashian has been even more photographed than ever - and has a bold style which will continue to be copied constantly. She favours statement pieces which draw attention to the arms. Beads, semi-precious stones and crystals are all used to create a perfect piece, which she then layers them up to make it even more distinct. Along with these modern looks she also takes inspiration from the effortless style of the 1930s and has been known to even wear bejewelled armlets for that Grecian style which is timeless.

Pixie Lott is known for not only having a beautiful voice but a beautiful everything else too! In true Pixie form, she often goes for delicate bracelets, which add a touch of glamour to her outfit. Usually silver, she ranges from chains, links and cords but has also been known to go for a heavy wooden bangle which emphasises her dainty features.

Pick from high street stores, the internet, catalogues or market stalls; your resources for bracelets are unlimited. Glam yourself up with oriental or futuristic designs, mix vintage and neo-modern styles together and make a truly unique ensemble. Take advantage of today's range of resources. There are a huge variety of interesting materials that can make beautiful jewellery cheap. Go green by visiting markets or adopting second hand jewellery. Or, treat yourself with an investment piece you know you'll always wear.

It's up to you. Be inspired by your particular style favourite, mix and match, layer and pile them up, or choose one must-have bracelet which makes you feel good, and no matter what you wear, you'll look and feel original. Just as you are.
